Chapter 866 - 891: A Brilliant Move, One Step at a Time (2)

Mia Ginger had already fallen asleep.

Koa Jackson carried her directly to the bedroom and placed a thermometer beside her.

At the end of April, the temperature difference between day and night was significant, and she wore thin clothes, got drunk, and ran against the wind. She already had a bit of a fever while in the car.

Naturally, that made people anxious.

While Koa Jackson was with her, Aurora Cooper was busy preparing soup to help her sober up.

Mia Ginger lay in bed wearing a fitted vest, her little face was flushed red and exposed, feeling hot, she raised her hand to grab her hair.

Koa Jackson leaned over and helped her remove the wig, rubbing her short hair with one hand, and asked gently, "Are you feeling uncomfortable somewhere? Do you want me to get a towel for you?"

"Brother Jackson." Mia Ginger called him in a daze.

Koa Jackson then tightened his hold on her hand that was outside the blanket.

Mia Ginger’s fingers curled around the pendant in her palm, warming it up.

In her confusion, she felt her head throbbing painfully, with images of sparks flying in her mind, before turning into darkness, and then gradually, the black night turned into light. She felt happy, skipping and walking, breathing in the fragrance of plants in the night breeze, when she saw a tall figure in the distance.

Ecstatic, she shouted, "Brother Jackson."

The person slowly turned around to look at her.

Mia Ginger screamed "Ah" and sat up suddenly.

Her face showed fear, drenched in sweat.

Koa Jackson was startled by her, quickly asking, "What’s wrong?"

"No face." Mia Ginger looked at him with lingering fear and said blankly, "I just saw you in my dream, you turned around without a face."

As soon as she finished speaking, she plunged into Koa Jackson’s arms.

Koa Jackson held her close, his hand soothing her tense and stiff back, softly comforting her, "It’s only a dream, nothing to be afraid of, just a dream. I’m right here, not going anywhere."

"Okay." Mia Ginger murmured.

"Let me see the thermometer." Koa Jackson said, picking up the thermometer that had fallen on the blanket to check.

37.6 degrees, not considered a high fever.

He breathed a light sigh of relief, hearing footsteps approaching from behind.

Aurora Cooper came in carrying a bowl.

Seeing that she had woken up, she quickly placed the bowl aside and gently asked her, "How are you feeling? Is there any discomfort?"

"She has a slight fever," Koa Jackson said to her, "but it’s not serious. A little medicine and sweating tonight should help."

"That’s good." Aurora Cooper sighed, "I was really worried."

"Sorry to worry you." Mia Ginger pressed her lips.

"Don’t say things like that." Aurora Cooper chided gently, "As long as you’re okay, everything is fine."

Mia Ginger gave a tired smile.

Koa Jackson leaned over, holding the bowl to feed her the bean soup. As she was drinking, his phone suddenly rang.

"I’ll take over; you go answer your phone." Aurora Cooper quickly took the bowl.

Koa Jackson nodded and went out to make the call.

Mia Ginger drank half a bowl of bean soup, then shook her head not wanting more. Aurora Cooper put down the bowl, and when she turned around, she saw Mia Ginger staring blankly at the pendant in her hand. The full and lovely jade bean pod lay in her palm, glowing brighter under the light, not only beautiful but incredibly valuable.

Considering Aiden Jiang’s wealth and style, he seemed unlikely to have bought such a costly gift for his daughter?

She was pondering when Mia Ginger spoke contemplatively, "Did Brother Jackson give this to me?"

"You don’t remember?" Aurora Cooper was taken aback.

Mia Ginger replied softly, "I just remember having it before military training; it seems it wasn’t a gift from dad, but I don’t remember anything else."
