Chapter 353: The Hall of Truth’s Lucky Star
Chapter 353: The Hall of Truth’s Lucky Star
Li Wei left the Cultivation Secret Realm.
Upon returning to the Celestial Realm, he realized that twenty days had passed without him noticing.
Time always seemed to fly by when he was in seclusion.
In the blink of an eye, January was almost over.
After breaking through to Tier Four, Li Wei felt much more relaxed and decided to give himself a break for a while.
It was important to balance work and rest.
Li Wei applied to the Elemental Tower for a High Tier Cultivation Method.
In a few days, the Elemental Tower would send someone to verify if he met the qualifications.
The only requirement was to be a Grand Mage.
During this time, Li Wei took the opportunity to properly relax.
However, for someone like Li Wei, who was used to spending most of his day in cultivation, these relaxing, idle days actually felt a bit boring.
When he wasn’t cultivating, he didn’t even know what to do with himself.
So, he decided to take a stroll over to the Hall of Truth.
Fang Lide was rather surprised to see Li Wei after such a long time.
He stared at Li Wei in astonishment for a long moment.
"You broke through to Tier Four?"
He wasn’t entirely sure.
It was mainly because Li Wei’s advancement was just too fast.
Fang Lide knew that when Li Wei first arrived at the Elemental Tower, he was merely a Tier Two Mage.
How long had it been, and he was already Tier Four?
What were those who had been in the Elemental Tower for over a decade without becoming Grand Mages supposed to think?
Li Wei smiled and said, "It was just a lucky break."
Fang Lide drew in a sharp breath, shaking his head. "This was no lucky break."
He couldn’t help but sigh. "Honestly, comparing people is just infuriating."
"Talent is truly the most inscrutable thing in the world."
Fang Lide looked at Li Wei and said, "If all goes well, it’s only a matter of time before you become a Legendary Mage."
Li Wei just smiled.
"You haven’t been to the Hall of Truth in so long. What brings you here today?" Fang Lide teased.
Li Wei said, "I’ve been bored lately, so I thought I’d come have a look."
"You really are something else... If the others in the Hall of Truth heard you say that, I don’t know how many would die of frustration."
Fang Lide didn’t know whether to laugh or cry.
Anyone else would kill to be cooped up in the Hall of Truth twenty-four hours a day, plumbing the depths of Magic Truth.
But Li Wei only came when he was free and had nothing better to do.
And yet, he possessed the research talent that everyone dreamed of.
It was an utter waste of God-given talent.
If the others found out, they’d all weep.
Li Wei gave a sheepish chuckle. "Hehe."
Fang Lide could only shake his head at him.
"Forget it. Since you haven’t been here in so long, now that you’ve shown up, you should at least make some Contribution."
"Didn’t you just break through to Tier Four? Haven’t you chosen a High Tier Cultivation Method yet?" Fang Lide asked.
Li Wei nodded. "I just applied for one from the Elemental Tower."
Fang Lide said, "There’s no need for that. Stay and help out at the Hall of Truth for a while, and I’ll apply for you to receive one of our latest creations—a brand-new High Tier Cultivation Method derived from the Sunshine project."
Li Wei looked surprised.
"Has there been new progress on the Sunshine research?" he asked, surprised.
Fang Lide replied, "This project started a long time ago, but it’s only recently borne fruit."
"It might not be completely polished yet, so it’s a perfect opportunity for you to test the waters and help us refine it."
Fang Lide chuckled mischievously.
Li Wei laughed. "So you want me to be the guinea pig."
"Just tell me, do you want it or not?" Fang Lide said bluntly.
"I want it."
Even knowing he’d be a guinea pig, Li Wei wasn’t about to refuse.
Besides, he could get the Cultivation Method from the Hall of Truth and still get another one from the Elemental Tower.
Then he could just see which one suited him better.
Li Wei said, "In that case, I’ll go to the Radiance Research Room first. I’ve had some new ideas recently."
"Mm, go on."
Li Wei arrived at the Radiance Research Room.
He found that only Lux was inside.
Puzzled, he asked, "Where is everyone else?"
Hearing Li Wei’s voice, Lux turned around in surprise.
"Li Wei, what are you doing here?"
"What? Am I not allowed?"
"No, it’s not that. I’m just surprised. We haven’t seen you in almost two months," Lux said.
Li Wei had been in seclusion for a month before, and after coming out, he went straight to Maple City.
After returning, he went into seclusion again for nearly another month.
So it really had been two months since he’d last visited the Hall of Truth.
Li Wei looked at the Radiant Magic Model Lux was studying.
"Has there been any new progress recently?" Li Wei asked.
Lux took out a few blueprints and said, "There’s been some slight progress, but it’s slow."
"In the two months you’ve been gone, the research team managed to optimize six more Magic Circuits, but we’re still a long way from our goal."
Li Wei could tell with a single glance that the casting difficulty of the Radiant Spell was still at the Tier Four High Level.
Yet, the spell’s power was only on par with Tier Three Magic.
For a Tier Three spell, a Tier Four High Level casting difficulty was absurd.
Basically, no Tier Three Mage could possibly cast it.
A Tier Four High Level casting difficulty was considered a challenging spell even for a Tier Four Mage.
After comprehending the Nuclear Secret Technique, Li Wei actually had a few new ideas.
He glanced around and asked, "Why are you the only one here? Where did the others go?"
Lux said, "You used a Magic Cannon equipped with a Sunshine in battle before, right? They’ve gone to test a newly developed, more powerful Sunshine Magic Cannon."
BOOM!
Li Wei heard a muffled explosion from the distance.
The entire room trembled.
He was quite surprised.
One had to understand that the Sunshine Research Institute was a complete Magic Hall, and every room was its own independent space.
The force of the explosion had actually managed to penetrate the Magic Hall’s independent spaces and affect them here.
Its power was hard to imagine.
Lux shook her head and said, "They probably failed again."
A moment later, Li Wei saw a group of people walking back, looking disheveled.
As they walked, they were fiercely debating why the Magic Cannon had exploded.
When Cohen and Yened saw Li Wei, they stopped their discussion and their faces lit up. "Li Wei, what are you doing here?"
Everyone was surprised to see Li Wei.
Li Wei hadn’t been seen for two months.
They all thought he had withdrawn from the Hall of Truth.
They had never seen such a willful member of the Hall of Truth.
Yened hurried over and asked eagerly, "Li Wei, didn’t you use a Magic Cannon assembled with a Sunshine in battle before? How did you manage to control the cannon’s output to exceed its own power limit without it exploding?"
He was extremely curious about this.
All of their recent experiments had ended with the Magic Cannon’s Magic Array collapsing and self-destructing due to overload.
From his perspective, the fact that the Magic Cannon Li Wei had used didn’t explode was simply magical, almost unbelievable.
Li Wei thought for a moment before replying, "It was probably because I was powering it with my Mana, not with Magic Stones. That’s likely why I was able to overload the Magic Cannon."
"Mana is inherently more stable and controllable than Magic Energy."
Upon hearing this, Yened became lost in thought.
A moment later, he clapped his hands together and exclaimed excitedly, "I’ve thought of a solution!"
