Chapter 327: Watching the Show
Chapter 327: Watching the Show
"It’s here!"
Lily Dalton nervously created a Wood Shield.
"Now you’re feeling regret?
Pull yourselves together and face the enemy!"
Anselm Vance said, watching the three people fumbling around inside the sand shield.
The Mutated Leopard lunged, extending its forelimbs toward the people inside the sand shield.
But it only ended up slamming heavily against it.
The Superpower in Ian Nash’s hands faltered. He stared in shock at the Mutated Leopard that had crashed to the ground outside the sand shield.
"The sand shield actually..."
’It wasn’t broken?’
Nina Jacobs’s lips curled into a smile.
’The horde of Mutated Animals is about to arrive. These people will have to fight whether they want to or not.’
ROAR!
Seeing that its prey was unreachable, the Mutated Leopard got back on its feet, turned, and lunged toward Anselm Vance and the others nearby!
"Defend!"
Magnus York had no choice but to use her Superpower.
Everyone else scrambled to engage the enemy.
Just then, however, two more Mutant Tigers arrived.
Outside the sand shield, the intense clash of Superpowers mingled with the continuous roar of rocket launchers.
"Summer Warner! Help us!"
Magnus York shouted.
Looking at the nearly dead Mutated Leopard not far away, Nina Jacobs said, "Alright."
She formed a Stone Spike and, with a single move, pinned the Mutated Leopard firmly to the ground.
’Eleven to go.’
A rocket hit a Mutant Tiger square in the back, and Nina Jacobs once again finished it off.
Magnus York frowned.
’She realized that Summer Warner was only good for reaping the rewards.’
’The rest of the time, she just stood inside that damn sand shield watching the show.’
’Meanwhile, Ian Logan and his group were only focused on saving their own skins.’
’How did they end up in a situation where they had to fight all alone!’
"That giant mutated chimpanzee is coming. Should we retreat for now?"
Eryx Rhodes suggested.
The first two Mutant Tigers had exuded a powerful scent of blood, which, combined with the huge commotion, had attracted so many carnivorous Mutated Animals.
They had no idea how many more Mutated Animals were still alive inside this sanctuary.
"We’ve struggled so hard to get here. If we retreat now, this entire operation will be a complete failure."
Magnus York didn’t hesitate for a second. The Thunder Element Superpower in her hands surged violently.
Amidst the fierce slaughter, Nina Jacobs tirelessly delivered the final blows.
It had to be said, Magnus York’s people had some fighting prowess. Under the assault of the Mutant Beasts, only two of them had died.
That is, until the giant mutated gorilla arrived.
Its body was far more massive than any Mutated Animal Nina Jacobs had seen before.
Although Magnus York’s team had also brought heavy-damage weapons like cannons, after a prolonged struggle, the mutated gorilla had only sustained a shoulder injury.
Seeing this, Anselm Vance simply signaled for a few people to hide behind the Diamond Sand Cover.
Sure enough, the mutated gorilla swung its enormous fist and smashed it down on the people inside the sand shield!
Nina Jacobs’s expression remained unchanged. She added another reinforcing layer to the Diamond Sand Cover.
BANG!
A tremendous impact struck. Although the Diamond Sand Cover showed slight signs of cracking, it quickly returned to its original state under the repair of Nina Jacobs’s Earth Element Superpower.
And that was only the first layer of the sand shield.
In the eyes of the mutated gorilla, the prey that had just fled and the people inside this sand shield were all one and the same.
It stomped its feet and roared incessantly, then brought both hands down upon the sand shield!
BOOM!
A highly impactful Fire Serpent shot toward its face!
The mutated gorilla shrieked and immediately used its massive paws to smack out the flames burning on its fur.
It took several steps back, a hint of caution now in its eyes.
"It seems this will be a fight to the death."
Nina Jacobs led Wayne Warner out of the sand shield and said to the three people behind them, "You don’t need to follow."
"Be careful."
Lily Dalton was trembling with nervousness.
Ian Nash cursed the few people who were gloating as they hid behind the sand shield; he had never seen such shameless people.
Everyone else, however, stared in shock at the two people fighting the mutated gorilla.
"Dual Element... a Dual Element Intermediate Superpower User!
Who the hell is she?"
Magnus York had never heard of such a person.
’She hid her abilities so well!’
About ten minutes later, Wayne Warner, holding a Diamond Sand Spike, ended the mutated gorilla’s life.
The way everyone around them looked at the pair had completely changed.
’These two are too strong!’
Nina Jacobs swept a cold gaze over the crowd, then shot toward one person to attack!
Anselm Vance hadn’t expected this Summer Warner to retaliate so quickly.
"What we did just now was unintentional! Let’s talk about any misunderstandings after we kill these Mutated Animals!"
Anselm Vance struggled to dodge.
However, Summer Warner paid him no mind.
Several Flaming Arrows assaulted Anselm Vance from all directions.
With a bloodcurdling scream, Anselm Vance was instantly turned into a human torch.
"Summer Warner, what are you doing? He didn’t deserve to die!"
Magnus York immediately had a Water Element Superpower User go forward to extinguish the fire, but Anselm Vance’s body had already shriveled into a pile of ashes in an instant.
’What a powerful Fire Element attack!’
Ben Lawson watched this scene, his face a mask of shock.
"Whether he lives or dies is my call now."
After saying this, Nina Jacobs walked back under the Diamond Sand Cover with Wayne Warner.
"Let’s make a deal. As long as you continue to help us today, all of our supplies are yours."
Magnus York said with a frown.
The others were still fighting the remaining Mutated Animals, and that mutated gorilla alone had already cost them eight people.
Yet Summer Warner and her companion were completely unscathed.
"Make a deal? Are you worthy?"
Nina Jacobs said, her face devoid of expression.
The reason she had moved to kill the mutated gorilla was not only because it had provoked her, but also because it didn’t just eat people.
It ate the surrounding Mutated Animals as well.
’If she let it keep eating, she wouldn’t even have time to land the finishing blows and reap the rewards.’
Meanwhile, the situation here was also being watched by the people in the observation post.
"These Mutated Animals are incredible. They’re even stronger than the mutated bear we encountered before."
Shirley Lucas commented as she watched.
"That’s right. There are only ten of us. If we were to charge in, we definitely wouldn’t stand a chance."
Adrian Shaw added.
’So this was Nina Jacobs’s purpose in bringing them here.’
"Anselm Vance is dead! Anselm Vance is dead! HAHAHAHA, he’s dead! Serves him right..."
Nathan Moreau laughed until tears streamed down his face.
The one who had dealt the fatal blow to Stellan Gallagher was Anselm Vance.
"But it looks like their situation is getting a little dicey. More Mutated Animals are coming."
Chase Gallagher said after zooming in as far as possible.
Another batch of Mutated Animals had appeared at the edge of the area.
"They’ve got a ready-made workforce. Let’s just watch."
Leo Hale was gloating a little.
To be fair, that group didn’t exactly look like good people.
At this moment, Nina Jacobs also noticed the change in the surroundings.
But she didn’t let it show.
Looking at the utter devastation outside the sand shield, Lily Dalton was now incredibly grateful for her recent decision.
"Are you here looking for that type of stone, too?"
The man in black, whose name was Sebastian Lynch, couldn’t help but ask.
Seeing that Summer Warner didn’t answer, Sebastian Lynch continued, "They also spent many days searching these mountain ranges before zeroing in on this location.
It’s said there’s a large quantity of Energy Stones here, but we looked around earlier and didn’t see any."
"Was there someone named Veronica Ziegler in your group before?"
Nina Jacobs asked after a moment of thought.
Lily Dalton immediately nodded. "Yes, but she injured her leg and couldn’t come. Magnus York even left two people behind to take care of her. Do you know her?"
’Injured her leg?’
"Do you know how she met Magnus York?"
Nina Jacobs asked pensively.
"She was brought into the group midway through by Alistair White."
Ian Nash replied.
